‘Water Water’ is the result of an ongoing collaboration between a group of International artists who are part of the Womanifesto collective. This film consists of five individual films addressing the theme of water that combine to reflect on a complex universal concern this century at the time of global warming. Each film has its own distinctive style dealing with the dying of coral reefs, the aftermath, of a tsunami, the struggle between man and animal for water, the destruction of a lake’s ecosystems and a glaciers runoff.
Anca Dimofte is a London based Romanian artist working predominantly with video and performance. With a background in documentary filmmaking her work connects her interests in social and climate justice, feminism, and psychoanalysis.
Reiko Aoyagi is an artist from Chiba, Japan who currently lives and works in London. Her interests lie in exploring light as a transformative force in various contexts such as human relationships amongst culturally and individually different people. Her recent works are microscopic photography installations.
Nilofar Akmut is involved in researching, documenting, deconstructing, and reconstructing colonial, social, ecological herstories and the formation of new nations after the partition of the Indian subcontinent. She is actively involved with LAT to pursue her performative interests. Slaughter Haus Print studios. UK
Sakunthala Galanga’s interest lies in the transformation of objects within nature that change over time into narrative story books for children, dance choreographs pieces and video works. She is actively involved with Theertha International Artists Collective. Sri Lanka.
Farida Batool is an independent artist who explores Pakistan’s political upheavals and tumultuous history. She is an active member of Awami Art Collective which aims to use art in public spaces to generate a discourse of peaceful co-existence.
