Under the umbrella of Womanifesto –GATHERINGS take place in 5 different locations.
Nitaya Ueareeworakul in Udon Thani, on her farm. Phaptawan Suwannakudt in Sydney. Karla Sachse in Berlin. Varsha Nair in Baroda. Lena Eriksson in Basel. Nilofar Akmut in London.
Each hosts a GATHERING of 2-5 artists living in the vicinity, and in their LOCAL environment -home, studio, park, where possible, given the social distancing guidelines.
The spirit of Womanifesto is rooted in ‘gathering’, hospitality and creating relationships, meeting face-to-face, maintaining a consistent physical presence.
With the above being restricted currently, due to the pandemic we are forced to interact digitally – in an intangible space. Hence, we propose that each person offers a gathering point, a tangible space, to meet face to face and not via a screen and clicks on a key board.
We connect what’s happening locally in an international network, each place/point connects to the other digitally. This blog is set up to share the process and outcome.
