Gabriela Vasquez-Pacheco is an art-teaching colleague of Karla and mother of two children and Lea Mattenklotz, a former student at Kurt Schwitters School studying art now. Both were enthusiastic to be asked to realise this group project together but also clamped in their life of working and studies. Hence we agreed to meet for one full day.
Because of the strong lockdown finally we had to organise our final meeting on January 3rd very precautiously: it was snowing – by chance Gabriela and Lea arrived at my door at the same moment – Lea had not yet the result of a covid-test and she only could hand over her pieces in a black envelope from the top of the stairs, while Gabriela took off her coat – we all talked a bit at the door at a suitable distance before Lea left – after a small breakfast Gabriela and I arranged the works and discussed it with Lea via Jit.si – Gabriela wrote her texts on the same little handmade pieces of paper – when she left, Lea came back again to sign her works – bringing the handwritten texts with her…
