My friend Petra retired recently and has now much more capacity for artistic creativity. So she asked to be involved in one or the other art project. Immediately she got the invitation for Womanifesto Gathering 2020 and was slightly shocked by the dimension of the project which was given into her hands.
But soon she found two female collaborators, mother and daughter, in a village where she has a second home. First they agreed to search for objects with a story to be told.
On December 15th they met, respecting the lockdown with “distance, decency and ventilation“, to show each other what they found. The big pleasure of this meeting was obviously to read, hear and discuss the stories around the highlighted objects. Together they decided on a photographic treatment of the topic. On January 2nd they met again to finalise the images and the texts sending it as digital pictures to me. She and Petra had an appointment in a copy shop on January 9th to produce the prints. However, x-film and light grey paper had to be ordered and arrived before they could put everything together on January 22nd. Only now they had a chance to find the “right“ arrangement for each photo in the magical square of the nine images. This follows again the vertical line of female unity from the young student to the senior woman.
