London – lunchtime Dec 24, 2020

As a strict lockdown was enforced in London, on Christmas Eve our group met online and shared food together. Some of the members had met for the first time and we all shared our stories of how we have met each other, our friendships, and our work collaborations prior to Womanifesto. Nilofar talked about Womanifesto and gave us an insight into its history and where it is situated now. We spoke about isolation during the pandemic and how Womanifesto seemed to always put social relations above the mere production of art. We asked ourselves what kind of gatherings we can form. Reiko mentioned ways in which she keeps people in mind as a way of communicating. Thinking of someone deeply is a sort of dialogue she can have in times like these where we can hardly move outside the walls of our homes. Lastly, we decided to continue having regular meetings and continue talking about what is important for each one of us. Ester proposed the next topic to be freedom, what does it mean to us now, as women, of different backgrounds and ages, in times of uncertainty and isolation.
